One night I had a couple tiny blobs of Alizarin orange and Titanium zinc white remaining on my palette. I was eyeing this painting, which I kind of thought was finished until a year later when I saw it definitely wasn't.
I touched the end of my pointer finger in both blobs and smeared it on the white cloud. Much better. I picked up a brush and added more. Mucho better.
Now I adore this painting. Painting is always about the wondering - if i do this...what if i did that? Sometimes i want to cry but more times i am very glad I went further.
